A poignant, heartfelt, personal and soul-searching look back at one man's war...Apart from his remarkable talents as a storyteller, Ray also delivers generous portions of his encyclopedic knowledge of the history of the Vietnam War and its military facilities, which by themselves are worth the price of admission.
Michael "Machinegun" Kelley Author of Where We Were in Vietnam |
This collaboration presents a record of one soldier's experiences before, during, and after war, well worth reading. Vietnam veterans will find Time-Line Vietnam a book they can relate to. Others will learn that soldiers came from neighborhoods like their own and that they served in a war when their nation needed them.
Howard A. Daniel III, US Army, Retired Vietnam veteran and author of, The Catalog & Guidebook of Southeast Asian Coins & Currency |
Beginning with Ray's sudden decent into Vietnam, the team has done well capturing the fast forward and rewind aspects of life. When one finds himself assigned on temporary duty to funeral escort detail, it can change his life in many ways. Although they didn't know them personally, the Bows-Problemi team provides a real tribute to SP5 Robert J. Weidemann, US Army, and PFC Joel W. Mock, US Marine Corps, who gave their lives in Vietnam. This book should be commended.
